The day starts at 7 with an hour of yoga, followed by two and a half hours of Muay Thai training, break for lunch and rest and then back at 4:30 for another two and a half hours. It's a long day! The beginners class began with running and shadow boxing, then learning the different punches and kicks and practicing them with the trainers, partners and punching bags.
Muay Thai is called the art of eight limbs, and after a day of training all of mine were sore and exhausted! I could barely lift my arms above my head and I have bruises all over. Loved it though!
So intense! Are most of the other people in the class foreigners too?
ReplyDeleteYep, there were a few Thais in my class but not many; a lot of Australians and Eastern Europeans.
DeleteIs it like a camp? Do you stay there or go back to your own place for rest and in the evening? What happened to the nice quiet meditation you were going to do?
ReplyDeleteIt is, they have a restaurant and rooms on site which is convenient. A lot of people come for several months just to train. They have a bunch of other classes too, Cross Fit and other martial arts. Still planning on doing meditation at some point.
Deleteoh boy, that was a lot in one day! Are you going back?
ReplyDeleteYep! I've gone back a few times, although only for half days.
