Secret Garden

An unused gate to the sculpture garden
I visited a terracotta sculpture garden this weekend.  It serves as an outdoor showroom for Baan Phor Lian Meun's Terracotta Arts but apparently they also have a lot of old and broken pieces from nearby temples.  The garden was really interesting and felt very secluded, like stumbling upon a secret garden.  It's not a place that's in the usual guidebooks and although it's near the Chiang Mai gate, it's a few blocks away, up soi 2, so I didn't see any other Westerners there.

The sculptures are scattered throughout
the garden, interspersed with plants

Ganesha, one of my favorite Buddhist gods

Tiles and broken sculptures and pots were stacked all over

A collection of buddha heads that fell off their bodies

The garden was quite large, this is just one wing

  2. Very cool. Is it as abandoned as it looks?
    Do they have workshops?
