Fun at the farm

We had plenty of free time at Tacomepai and we spent some time doing fun things as a group.  On Saturday a bunch of us went to a few close waterfalls.  Not the most amazing waterfalls I've ever seen but a nice relaxing break.

It was also the first time I had ever ridden on the back of a motorbike and it was a bit frightening, especially when we started going 80 km/hr on the main road to Chiang Mai.  I was starting to feel more confident until we left the second waterfall and lost the other two American girls.  We waited for a while and finally sent someone back to check on them.  They had crashed their motorbike and although they weren’t badly injured they did have many cuts and scrapes.

We also went to a party / gathering at Pittalew art gallery.  Pai has a large ‘hippie’ foreigner population and it was almost all foreigners.  There were vendors and local musicians and we all had a nice time.

Last night I met up with the group again for Margaux’s birthday.  We went to an Italian restaurant in town which surprisingly had decent food and then a reggae bar down the street.  I was happy that there was such a great group of people at the farm.  It made my stay very enjoyable.

  1. Scary! Glad the girls weren't hurt. Who was driving your bike?

    1. Very! Especially since I was nervous to ride it in the first place. Margaux seemed to handle the bike quite well even thought the road was sandy and there were huge pot holes everywhere.
