My new hostel is in a more touristy area. There are lot of hostels and guesthouses, restaurants, bars and shops selling elephant rides and hill tribe treks.
I went out with a Jenni, a girl from my hostel, to a complex down the street with bars and restaurants and met a bunch of travelers including a girl from Iowa who is in a similar situation as me. Anna quit her job as a Spanish teacher and moved to Chiang Mai to teach English. Jenni left for Bangkok yesterday and most of my classmates are leaving in the next couple days so it will be nice to have someone to do things with!

Warm delicious chocolate croissant and a masala tea with chunks of ginger |
I discovered a cafe close to the new hostel that has awesome chocolate croissants! I'm not sure if they just use more chocolate than normal or if it's a different kind that melts better, but they are possibly the best chocolate croissants I've ever had. I got up extra early this week so I could enjoy one before walking to class.

Deep fried tofu with peanut sauce, yum! |
I also found a vegetarian Thai restaurant that has Khao Soi! Khao Soi is a curry type dish with fried noodles on top, but they normally put egg in it I think so I haven’t been able to get it. I was thrilled when I found it and it was delicious!
