Portuguese Settlement

The Portuguese Settlement near Melaka turned out to be less interesting than I had expected.  Along the way though I found this Chinese monument and a Buddhist temple in a strip mall.  I also found hundreds of grave markers lining a street although I couldn't find any signs to tell me what they were.

The Portuguese settlement looked like any other neighborhood.  The only difference was the Catholic paraphernalia on the houses.

By the river was the Portuguese Square, which had several restaurants, most of which were closed when I was there.  It may be popular at night or on weekends, but there was no one else there at all in the afternoon.
